A Message from the Sheriff: Easter Weekend Safety

As we head into the Easter weekend, I want to take a moment to wish everyone in our community a joyful and peaceful holiday. Whether you're attending church services, hosting a family gathering, or enjoying an Easter egg hunt with the kids, please remember to celebrate responsibly and stay safe.

Our deputies will be out in the community to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend. Here are a few safety tips to keep in mind:

  • Drive safely: If you're traveling, buckle up, follow the speed limit, and never drive under the influence.

  • Watch out for pedestrians: Children will be out and about, especially near parks and neighborhoods.

  • Secure your home: If you're going out of town, make sure your home is locked and well-lit.

  • Be respectful in public spaces: Let's all be mindful and courteous as we share parks, roads, and venues with others.

Let's make this a weekend filled with kindness, community spirit, and care for one another. Happy Easter, and stay safe!

Sincerely,

Sheriff Ward Calhoun, III

Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department
