Late yesterday afternoon, we received a report of an alleged threat of violence directed toward students at West Lauderdale Middle School. Based upon our investigation, we have determined there was no current threat. A student who had been involved in a previous incident, answered a question yesterday, to which the response caused other students to take the response out of context. The actual event had been investigated two weeks ago and handled by school officials.

 A fraudulent social media profile was created, and erroneous information was being spread between students. The investigation continues, if you have information in regard to the student or students who created the fake profile, please contact your School Resource Officer or the Sheriff's Department.
